30 hours free childcare
As many parents/carers may be aware from September 2017 families meeting a specific criteria will be able to claim an additional 15 hours free childcare on top of the existing 15 hours already available to all 3 and 4 year olds.
This additional offer is aimed specifically at those families who meet the criteria below:
- all parents/carers must be working in the household
- all parents/carers must be working the equivalent of 16 hours a week on minimum/living wage
- all parents/carers must be earning the national minimum/living wage
- all parents/carers earnings must be no more than £100,000 per year
- 'Parent' means a person who has parental responsibility for the child, in cases where a parent has remarried or is living with a partner, the step-parent or partner must also meet the learning threshold
- Foster carers are only eligible for the extended entitlement for their own children (if they meet the criteria); and not eligible for children they foster.

Talking 2's
Parents/carers of two year olds who meet the criteria can apply for 15 hours per week of free early years provision, for 38 weeks per year from the term after their second birthday.

Taking 3 and 4's
Every 3 and 4 year old child is entitled to 15 hours per week of free early years provision, for 38 weeks per year from the term after their third birthday.
